Goal Setter

“Dream big!”  “Set goals!”  “Live the life you want to live!”

I watch motivational blogs, listen to encouraging podcasts, and follow tons of folks on social media who are out there living an inspiring life, but I don’t pull the trigger on my own.  At least I haven’t…  Yet.

So here I am, saying enough is enough!  I’m ready to crush life.  I am ready to set some goals and literally CRUSH THEM.  I’m tired of sitting back and watching what appears to be, everyone besides me, go after their dreams.  It’s time to MAKE. MOVES.

So, I’m going to take the tips and advice I always hear folks talk about on those podcasts I told you I listen to.  As I go along, I’m going to post my goals and give an update on them every week.  I don’t know if that’s the best way to do this, if what I’m saying speaks to anyone else, but I’ve got to start somewhere.  That’s Goal numero uno.  START!  Get off my butt and GO!!!

To be completely honest, I’m a little bit nervous about this commitment to post weekly, let alone tell anyone what my goals are.  I like to keep most of those to myself so people can’t tell me how dumb they are or judge me for thinking I could ever do something so “silly”…people.  Geez.

I tend to overthink a TON, so opening myself up to listen to the opinions of others can send my brain into an all out survival mode.  My thoughts tend to keep me frozen in place, to where I never seem to do anything at all, for the fear of what MIGHT happen.  As I tell clients I work with in Real Estate, “we’ll cross that bridge if we come to it!”  There’s no need in worrying over something that may not even be.

The main goal setting tip I’m going to attempt to follow is to set SMART goals.  SMART stands for:

S – Specific
M – Measurable
A – Achievable
R – Relevant
T – Time Bound

Y’all have probably heard that one before.  It seems simple enough.  We’ll see!!

And maybe while I’m in the process of going after my own goals, others will get motivated as well.  I’m just ready to live!  I want to take in everything that life has to offer me!

Finally, if you’ve read all of this, that’s nice of you.  Haha!

GOAL #1 to come next!

Thanks for reading!

  1. You’ve taken the first step! I think writing down your goals helps solidify them and sharing them will only push you more. Paul and I have some of the same issues you mentioned – we can overthink something to death. We finally just had to make the leap and jump with FeatureTel. You already achieved so much with the dedication to working out and eating right for your show – you know you have the will power. I wish you the best in putting your plan in action and look forward to reading about your progress.
